Regency is Tracker’s premium pontoon line. Even so, this 25-plus-footer fitted with a Mercury 250 Verado outboard and capable of 42-plus mph speeds goes out the door at Tracker dealers at a no-haggle price of $81,995 (plus freight and sales tax) as tested. A lot of value is built into the package to delight with features and performance.

The 230 LE3’s charcoal exterior fencing and black Diamond Coat powder-coated logs give the Regency an elegant look to surround that performance. It accelerated to 30 mph in a cat-quick 6.2 seconds. With a full 52-gallon tank, range is 156 miles at a best-recorded cruise speed of 15.4 mph and 3,000 rpm. Those solid numbers translate to an economical experience on the water. The Regency 230 LE3 runs and drives like a luxury vehicle, crossing boat wakes and cutting turns cleanly, with no surprises.

The Regency is also built with luxury and longevity in mind. From the water up, triple 26-inch-diameter logs are welded with a multichamber internally braced buoyancy design, with lifting strakes that get the tubes on top while adding rigidity to them. They’re attached to the deck with full-length longitudinal M-brackets and full-width Z-bar crossmembers. A 3/4-inch treated-plywood deck is covered with padded cool-touch woven flooring. It’s all covered by a limited lifetime structural warranty and a 10-year bow-to-stern warranty.

Abovedecks, the interior layout provides a traditional bow conversation pit with long facing lounges. Regency’s new patented Stow More seating design allows the seatback to swing open on special hinges, providing convenient access to the generous compartments below—and that is in addition to underseat stowage. Nobody has to give up their seat to grab sunscreen, towels or other gear. Amidships, twin swiveling and reclining captain’s chairs provide plush comfort for the captain and navigator. Aft, a three-quarter-width reversible swingback lounge platform is great for sunning and watersports observation. The aft end of the boat is closed in with an attractive stainless-steel railing for safety.

The Regency 250 LE3 is a loaded family-fun platform that’s packed with innovative amenities designed to make your time on the water more enjoyable. The layout provides the capacity to seat 14 passengers, as well as storage to hold all the gear they want to bring aboard. In addition to the traditional underseat storage that can swallow plenty of big items, the 250 LE3 also boasts the patented Stow More seat storage system; lift the furniture backrests to reveal built-in storage bins that stash personal gear such as a purse or towel or change of clothes.

Regency keeps the amenities going in a way that includes form and function, as shown with its lighted drink holders with USB charging ports, ensuring that the crew is never too far away from a recharge or refreshment. The seats themselves feature soft pillow-top foam and stylish-yet-durable vinyl. Pump your tunes through the standard Wet Sounds stereo system.

The driver will love the digital helm station, with a 12-inch Regency omni touchscreen MFD that displays the speedometer and tach, as well as any ships systems, just by touching fingertip to screen. The high-back captain’s chair has adjustable armrests and swivels, so the skipper can join the conversation at rest, as does the co-captain’s chair to port.

The 250 LE3 certainly demonstrates performance chops because it can be rigged with a 250 or 300 hp Mercury Verado outboard. Construction is stout enough to handle all that horsepower, with three 26-inch-diameter tubes with lifting strakes providing plenty of buoyancy and stability. A sturdy one-piece M bracket and through-bolted Z-bar supports provide a strong and secure deck platform over the pontoons. Regency uses precision laser cutting and robotic assembly to further ensure that there are no shakes or rattles.

When you combine the 250 LE3’s solid construction with premium Mercury power and plush amenities, plus all the LED lighting to up the cool factor, you get a pontoon that any family would enjoy on the water, from sunrise to sunset and beyond.

This new 254 LE3 Sport boasts so many amenities, so much eye candy and so much luxury, yet it still elicited even more oohs and aahs after delivering a solid, sporty ride. On our overcast test day, the light was dusky under the covered dock, so instead of hitting the Verado ignition button, we tapped on the LED courtesy lights. A candy-colored blue light glowed along the seat bases and around cup-holder rims.

We had no idea a pontoon could look that great. LED courtesy lights on the Bimini and in the storage compartments were available to assist the crew when needed.

The blue glow was present along the top of the pontoons too, and it was doubled in the reflection of their glossy powder coating. Raw aluminum tubes would have been tarnished by water contact in a day. These could be cleaned like a fiberglass hull.

The helm boasted multifunction gauges along with a Lowrance HDS 7 touchscreen GPS and sonar display. A backup camera on the Bimini displayed on the screen with impressive clarity. And if you’re one who won’t use the Bimini because it’s a pain to raise and lower, fear not. At the touch of a button, this one can be both raised and extended or lowered and stowed.

It’s the aft-facing lounges and low-profile stainless-steel stern rails that give the Sport model its name, separating it from the luxury cruising LE3 model.

There is also a carefully positioned, standard equipment tow pylon to further ensure “Sport” wasn’t wasted verbiage, either. The seating was ideal for ski observers, and the acceleration and top speed were nothing but fun. The pylon and skis can be easily tucked into the center deck locker after the run.

The final ooh for the Regency line is its lifetime structural warranty and 10-year bow-to-stern warranty that covers everything (except the motor) Regency installed on the boat. That includes LEDs, electronics, gauge hinges, hatch cleats — nothing is missing, which is exactly how we’d describe the boat.

High Points
* Powder-coated tubes, rails and Bimini top on the 254 LE3 Sport ensure a long-lasting luster other pontoons can’t offer.
* Set-back center tube and engine pod feed clean water to the prop, even in turns.
* Each chamber of the three multichambered tubes is pressure-tested and sealed for safety.

Wrap yourself in triple-tube pontoon luxury and performance in this new 254 LE3.

The glossy, powder-coated tubes, rails and ladder really caught our eye. And that finish is tough and resists stains to keep the boat looking great for years. Color schemes include black and beige or blues with whites and browns with beiges — all richly accented with interior design that includes several textures of vinyl over multidensity foam for a cushy ride in the biggest waters. Woven-grass-mat flooring adds richness and easy maintenance, and a faux teak aft platform sole is ideal for reboarding from a swim.

The luxury is enhanced with whisper-quiet Verado power that thrills you with speed without drowning the rushing of wind and water beneath a clatter of hardware. Further enhancing the quiet, solid ride is the full-length, solid M-bracket connection between the tubes and the deck crossbeams, which are set as close as 8 inches aft for strength and smooth operation. The skipper is pampered with automatic trim, power steering and multifunction gauges all designed to make the ride easy and, above all, fun.

For safety, the tubes are multichambered and pressure-tested for air-tightness. A backup camera to the Lowrance HDS 7 gives clear rear vision for safety. Even the gates feature recoil hinges, like those on a pool gate, and a self-closing latch that opens from the outside, so don’t worry about toddlers playing with the hardware.

Interior LED lights add a soft, cool glow to the deck and cup holders, plus white LEDs in the Bimini and storage compartments illuminate these areas.

Nobody wants to wrestle a Bimini top, so this one deploys or stows at the touch of a button. Every Regency boasts a 10-year bow-to-stern warranty for everything the company installed on board including lights and electronics, and there’s a lifetime structural warranty, transferable to the next owner. The ultimate luxury from the LE3 is peace of mind for your boating investment.

High Points
* Powder-coated tubes, rails, Bimini top and ladder ensure a long-lasting luster other pontoons can’t offer.
* Extended center tube with an engine pod keeps the prop in clean water for optimum power and maneuverability.
* Each multichambered tube on the Regency 254 LE3 is pressure-tested and sealed for safety.

Regency plays rough among the competitors in high-quality performance pontoons, and its secret weapon is a handsome, protective powder coating on its tubes, rails and Bimini hardware. We anticipated a stiff price for this unique quality, but Regency offers the DL3 series to give boaters a foothold in Regency luxury — complete with a long list of standard features and a game-changing warranty — all for an attractive price.

The 220 DL3 offers 23 feet of deck space secured to triple tubes built with multiple airtight chambers for a solid, safe ride. In our test, the 150 hp outboard motor pushed us to an impressive 36.4 mph and stuck to its guns in hard-over turns. As we powered over wind chop and wakes, we noted the construction offered the same quiet ride as the top-echelon LE3 line.

We didn’t expect to find a power Bimini top on this model, but we were happily pleased with the gas-assist lift system that made raising and lowering the Bimini easy, with just fingertip pressure needed.

At the helm, hydraulic steering gave smooth handling, and engine controls were multifunction gauges. A Hook 5-inch GPS and sonar display were set in the dash center. On/off buttons and a master switch are lighted for easy use.

On the DL3 series, there was no disappointment in luxury seating either. Multidensity foam with a moisture barrier and lush, supple vinyl hugs riders into their seats. Seating includes a long starboard forward lounge and a second portside lounge. An L-shaped couch completes the seating aft.

The DL3 even boasted a luxury woven-vinyl deck covering, like the LE3 series.

Even with all this seating, a 3-foot-wide swim platform and an open foredeck for docking duties, we found the 8-foot-6-inch beam platform had an uncluttered, open arrangement that invites up to 10 adventurers on board to explore, cruise, swim and hang out. And with its 10-year bow-to-stern warranty and lifetime-structural warranty, the fun will come with great peace of mind, too. That’s luxury!

High Points
* Four-step powder-coated boarding ladder on the Regency 220 DL3 is convenient.
* An entertainment galley aft of the helm is helpful for refreshing the crew.
* A changing room pops out of the aft sun pad.
* Woven-vinyl decking is handsome, durable and easy to care for.

Never has a pontoon at such an attractive price been offered with powder-coated logs.

The new Regency 254 DL3, offering similar features and more motor options than Tracker Marine’s most luxurious pontoon, the Regency 254 LE3, is full of incredible amenities and built using tough, durable construction materials and techniques.

In 2013, Tracker Marine added a powder-coating furnace to its aluminum boat factory in Lebanon, Missouri. The company doesn’t paint boats anymore. The powder-coated finish helps your pontoon stay showroom beautiful and free of dingy corrosion along the waterline. Rails and tubes are color-coordinated. Tracker claims to be the only maker capable of building its full line this way, due to its sophisticated forecasting for annual demand and a modular assembly process that ensures efficiency and reliability on each boat.

Both the DL3 we tested and the LE3 have a length overall of 27 feet 5 inches. Lifting strakes and wave deflectors provide a dry ride along with extra lift, buoyancy, speed and handling. The deck is built to resist the elements as well as moisture seepage with a seven-ply pressure-treated deck. All furniture backs and bases are roto-molded, and all the upholstery is foam-wrapped with a moisture barrier for long life.

Wraparound bow lounges with deep cushions, pillow-top backs and lumbar support boast lockable stowage within and floor-level drink holders. The stern lounge comes with a pop-up changing room. Swimmers have access to a full-width platform with a padded nonskid surface.

The heavy-duty fiberglass console is elevated for maximum visibility. Our test boat had a Lowrance Elite-5 color depth finder/chart plotter with GPS, deluxe sport steering wheel with burl-wood accents, a mobile phone holder and full instrumentation. An easy-to-access automotive-style fuse panel is tucked under the console. For entertaining, the refreshment center with freshwater sink, pullout sprayer, food-prep area, drink holders and courtesy light proves ideal.

With a maximum horsepower rating of 300, the 254 DL3 has five motor options: Mercury OptiMax 200 and 250 Pro XS and Mercury Verado 200, Verado 250 Pro FourStroke and Verado 300 Pro FourStroke . The LE3 offers Verado 250 and 300 hp models.

Buyer’s Spotlight
*Ten-year bow-to-stern warranty and limited lifetime structural and deck warranty are transferable to a second owner.
*You’ll find a color-keyed polyester Bimini top with LED lights, color-keyed two-tone protective boot and easy-snap hardware.
*In-console AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth capability, dash-mounted remote and four speakers is standard.
*Upgraded vinyl upholstery offers more luxury and comfort.
*Removable table that sports molded-in drink holders has tall and short pedestals.
